DAY 3 🎄 Sexy Sprouts

NO SPROUT HATE HERE.

Now I know they’re not everyone’s favourite, and to be honest I think that’s because of that way we’ve been cooking them, but I love sprouts, especially cooked this way.

A big hunk of chunky green sprout isn’t likely to please anyone, so sometimes you just gotta be a little inventive and they are SO. YUMMY. This is definitely not a traditional way of cooking your festive veggie but it’s bound to convert anyone.

The best part is it’s so easy to make, this is literally a 10 minute recipe and uses barely any ingredients which is ideal for Christmas Dinner when you’re trying to balance cooking 100 different things that all take up time and space in your oven.

We all know sprouts and bacon are a good time, but these also have the addition of soy sauce and chilli flakes to give heat and saltyness. The best part I think though is the texture of doing your sprouts this way, SHRED ‘EM. It means they’re go crispy and delicious in the pan and to be honest they’re just a joy to eat. In your Christmas dinner, in a salad, whatever whenever. Join team sprout!

Ingredients:

500g sprouts

2 strips smoky bacon

3tbsp olive oil

3tbsp soy sauce

2tbsp chilli flakes

Method:

  • Add your sprouts into a food processor and blitz for a few seconds until shredded. You can cut them up really finely with a knife too if you don’t have a processor.
  • Heat a pan on a medium – high heat and add the oil. Finely cut the bacon and add this to the pan and fry for a minute or two until browned all over, then add in your sprouts and cook for 5 minutes until softened.
  • Add the soy and chilli flakes, mix it all in well and cook for a further 2-3 minutes until everything has heated through.
  • Serve up and enjoy! It’s that easy!
